What are we building?

Unlimited is a modern engineering and construction company that builds large-scale physical infrastructure projects like factories, power plants, and industrial facilities. Most companies in this space are >100 years old. These incumbents rely on traditional methods and legacy systems, with incentives often misaligned from their customers, resulting in projects that are slow-moving, risk-averse, tech-resistant, and more expensive and complex than necessary. At the core of what we’re building is Forge - a software platform to unify all engineering and project data into one integrated system with AI as a first class citizen. This is the key to ending the current era of stagnation and reclaiming our ability to shape the physical world.

Who are we?

We are an early stage team of builders. We’ve shipped software products to millions and built infrastructure worth billions. Our current team is Alex, Jordan, Tara, James, Russ, and a couple more chemical and mechanical engineers coming soon. We’re recently raised a large Seed round from top-tier investors (will be announced in a few weeks) to build the best team in the world to tackle this ginormous $9 trillion problem. We believe this is one of the most important and largest opportunities over the next couple decades.

Your North Star

Be Unlimited Industries’ process‑engineering authority—deliver high quality engineering for every project and convert that know‑how into repeatable digital workflows that power our AI‑driven platform.

If you started today, what would you do?

  • End‑to‑end Process Engineering for Active & Upcoming FEL 1 – 3 Studies
    • Develop Basis of Design, Heat & Mass Balances, chemical simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, and utility balances.
  • Process Safety & Compliance
    • Plan HAZID/HAZOP sessions;
    • Serve as Process Reviewer—approve all human‑ and AI‑generated calculations and drawings against ASME, API, IEC, and other applicable standards.
    • Own relief‑system and flare sizing.
  • Cross‑Discipline Coordination
    • Provide timely, accurate process data to mechanical, piping, electrical, and controls teams; resolve interface questions quickly and clearly.
  • Project‑Execution Support
    • Populate risk registers, decision logs, and reviews for process‑related items.
    • Support the Head of Projects during customer meetings: gather data, present interim results, attend site visits, and maintain weekly progress touch‑points.
    • Jump into adjacent early‑phase tasks—site‑selection screening, preliminary layouts, vendor technical clarifications—to keep the project moving.
  • Proposal & Pre‑Sales Contribution
    • Supply technical write‑ups, assumptions, and man‑hour estimates for new customer proposals.
  • Workflow Capture & Product Enablement
    • Document the end‑to‑end FEL workflow (inputs → AI step → human QA → deliverable).
    • Package high‑repetition calculation modules for software ingestion and build the initial simulation/template library.

Must Haves

  • 5+ years of experience (but more is better!) of front‑end (FEL 1‑3) process‑engineering experience – Has personally delivered BoD, heat‑ & mass‑balances, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, and relief‑system calculations, etc.
  • Bachelor’s or higher in Chemical / Process Engineering
  • Advanced skill with industry‑standard process‑simulation and sizing tools (Aspen HYSYS / Aspen Plus, UniSim, Pro II, Symmetry, etc.) and a track record of reconciling models to pilot or plant data.
  • HAZID / HAZOP experience and deep working knowledge of ASME, API, IEC and related codes; capable of acting as—or becoming—the Authorized Process Reviewer who signs off calculations and drawings.
  • Cross‑industry versatility—has applied process‑engineering skills in at least two sectors (e.g., oil & gas, chemicals, renewables, hydrogen, mining, food, pharma) and can transfer best practices between them.
  • Clear, concise communicator who can translate complex process concepts into plain language for customers, executives, and cross‑discipline teammates.
  • First‑principles problem‑solver—breaks novel problems down to fundamentals, then codifies the logic into repeatable calculations and workflows that others can reuse for product development.
  • Bias for action and startup adaptability—thrives amid shifting priorities, grabs adjacent tasks without prodding, and maintains a high quality, high‑integrity mindset.
  • Able to work overlapping Australian & U.S. time zones and commit to ~20 % travel, including short on‑site
